WWD reported today that singer/actress Hilary Duff will be creating a capsule collection for DKNY called "Femme," much like Rachel Bilson's line, "Edie Rose."
“One of the hardest things is to come up with a name,” said the 21-year-old, “But I think Femme works really well and explains the line perfectly as feminine but tough all at the same time. It’s aggressive, but in a good way.”
One of the main themes of "Femme" is versatility. Think sweaters with removable cowl scarves, faux-leather leggings, fringed tanks, crystal strapped tanks, t-shirts with detachable chain necklace, and skinny jeans with adjustable belt loops for thin or wide belts.
It's definitely an upgrade from her "Stuff by Hilary Duff" line, but I'm getting the feeling that just like Bilson's line, the clothes will be dopplegangers of Duff's favourite designs.
But who knows, maybe Duff will surprise us and turn out to be an innovative designer.
Femme for DKNY Jeans hits stores in August 2009 and will range from $39 to $129.
