Karl Lagerfeld to design for Macy's

Good news for Karl Lagerfeld fans!
Rumours are floating that the designer will be creating a mass collection for Macy's, which will include everything from jeans to party dresses. The line is also expected to include a "major online component."

Fashion insiders were first speculating about what Lagerfeld was up to when he announced that he would not be showing his signature collection during Paris Fashion Week, and instead had a fast fashion line in the works.

“I wanted this for a long time,” Lagerfeld told WWD in September. “I prefer to work in another way. I can’t compete with Chanel. I don’t want to be the poor child of myself. This has been my vision for years.”

He previously teamed up with H&M in 2004 to create a men's and women's collection.

Lagerfeld will be the third designer in a series to do a diffusion line for Macy's. The collection is expected to hit stores in fall 2011.

Leighton Meester to be the face of Vera Wang's new fragrance

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester has just been signed as the new face of Vera Wang's next fragrance.

Wang chose Meester because she believed her "beauty, talent and spirit will inspire all the young women that I hope will enjoy this passionate, new young fragrance."

The fragrance will be available in department stores next summer.

Over the weekend, photographer Carter Smith shot the campaign from a balcony in New York City. Meester, of course, was clad in a wine coloured Vera Wang gown.

Can't wait to see the end result!

The Costume Institute to exhibit McQueen's work

Fans of Alexander McQueen will now be able to see his work up-close, thanks to a new exhibition dedicated to the late designer.

The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will stage "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" next spring. It will feature McQueen's work over a course of almost two decades, beginning with his graduate collection at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, and ending with his final collection before the designer took his own life in February.

“After McQueen’s death, we wanted to stage an exhibition to celebrate his legacy in fashion history and his contributions to fashion,” said Andrew Bolton, who is spearheading this exhibit, with the support of curator in charge Harold Koda. “McQueen had such a singular voice and he was a remarkable technician.

“He really was one of the most provocative voices of the past 30 years in fashion,” Bolton added. “His catwalk presentations were outstanding and straddle art and fashion. We want to get across two elements — the spectacle of the runway presentations and the beauty of his craftsmanship.”

The show will feature roughly 100 pieces, including borrowed pieces from personal collections, including that of the late Isabella Blow, and Daphne Guinness.
The exhibit will launch with the annual Costume Institute Benefit gala on May 2, and will run from May 4 to July 31.

Gaga gets her own museum exhibition

In honour of Lady Gaga's world domination, the Galerie Chappe in Montmarte will open "Lady Gaga à Gogo" exhibition beginning October 22nd.

The exhibition, curated by Alexandre Bouchefiri, will bring together daily images of Gaga, her wildest outfits, and works by artists who were asked to reflect on what the fashion/pop icon means to them.

“If Madonna is the queen of pop, Lady Gaga’s the princess," said Bouchefiri. "Her clothes are always at the top of fashion."
Several designers, including Viktor & Rolf, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Thierry Mügler will be contributing to the exhibit, and artists Orlan, Aurèle and Winnie Denker have each produced a portrait of Gaga.

FIRST LOOK: Eminem feat. Rihanna - Love the Way You Lie (Official Video)

Eminem's video for "Love the Way You Lie" (featuring Rihanna) has just been released and stars Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan.

The violent vid is based on abusive relationships/domestic violence.

Fox donated the money she received for her appearance in the video to Sojourn House, a shelter for abused women which "provides battered women and their children a safe space to regroup, rebuild and reestablish their self-esteem and lives."

Although the music video is quite compelling, somehow, it seems that it's the woman who's to blame for the abuse.

Megan Fox named face of Giorgio Armani cosmetics

Giorgo Armani really loves Megan Fox!

Despite some alterations to her face, the 24-year-old has landed another Armani campaign, this time with the brands cosmetics.

"Mr. Armani is an iconic visionary for all things fashion," said Fox. "I'm honoured to be associated with him and part of this campaign.

According to a spokeswoman for Armani, the designer chose the actress for the beauty campaign because "she embodies the spirit of the women of today: free, confident and seductive. Her beautiful features reveal femininity, sensuality and strength."

The campaign images, which were shot by Craig McDean, will begin appearing in October.

Fox has previously appeared in advertisements for Emporio Armani underwear and Armani Jeans.

Dolce&Gabbana designing Chelsea's football uniforms

Looks like soccer is getting more and more fashionable!

Dolce&Gabbana has created a range of suits exclusively for the Chelsea Football Club, after inking a three-year deal with the team.

"We are really happy about this partnership and to be able to link our name to such a prestigious club like Chelsea," said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. "We are big football fans: for us it means healthy competition, intense passion and great discipline. Football players are style icons both on and off the pitch and, on top of this, there is our love of England and of London, which have always been a source of inspiration for our work."

The designer duo used the club's signature blue, and created two off-field outfits for the players - a three piece suit with an embroidered logo crest, and a pair of jeans worn with a shirt and black trainers. Both looks will be finished off with a black wool fitted coat.

But it's not only the players who will be dressed. Coach Carlo Ancelotti and the team's staff will also be gifted with D&G apparel, including two-button jackets, blue shirts, wool jumpers, and high-heeled shoes for the women. D&G will also give the club directors' lounge and other areas of the Chelsea club's stadium a makeover.

Dolce & Gabbana has previously designed the uniforms for A.C. Milan and for the 2006 World Cup Italian football team.

Perhaps Giorgio Armani will consider designing for Real Madrid...considering he's already taken Cristiano Ronaldo under his wing.

Justin Timberlake designing for Target

Justin Timberlake has done a great job with his William Rast collection, although the price points are a bit much for me.

But, alas! Timberlake is teaming up with Target on a collection that will hit stores December 19th!

“The collection for Target was inspired by the essence of the William Rast brand — the iconography of biker culture and American denim heritage,” said William Rast chief executive officer Colin Dyne.

The prices for the collection have not yet been revealed, but they should be fairly affordable, like Target's other Go International lines.

Looks like I'll have to make my way to the States for this one!

Will you be buying Justin Timberlake's Target collection?

Lady Gaga may land a tea campaign

We all know that Lady Gaga loves carrying around her teacup, as if it were a pet, so it was only a matter of time before tea companies would begin approaching her to become the face of their brand.

Lady Gaga has chosen Twinings tea who is said to have offered her a multi-million dollar deal.

"Her management have received a load of offers from major tea companies but Twinings are the front-runners. They want to launch a new tea with her face on it and discussions are taking place at the top level," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

Twinings also may create a new flavour in Gaga's honour.

"Names like The Taste Of Gaga are being batted about. The idea is to have tasting sessions in which she would participate," said the source. "The tasters are coming up with a tea with an oriental flavour. They want to market tea to a new, younger generation - particularly in America, and Gaga is making drinking tea cool again."

Leave it to Gaga to be a part of a creative celebrity collaboration.

Would you drink Gaga tea?
