Christian Louboutin for Barbie

Iconic shoe maker Christian Louboutin has teamed up with Mattel, the marker of Barbie to give the 50-year-old doll a makeover.

The collection consists of three dolls, inspired by Nefertiti and Marilyn Monroe, packaged in Louboutin shoe boxes. Each doll comes with four pairs of Barbie-sized Louboutin heels.

The dolls will be released separately, with the jewel thief-themed doll in December, the safari-themed in February and the Barbie who goes to the Cannes Film Festival in May. They will retail for $150 each and will be sold at BarbieCollector.com and at net-a-porter.com. The sites will also offer a Christian Louboutin Barbie shoe collection of 12 pairs for $40 in September.

Additionally, Louboutin will star in a photo diary with Barbie called, "My Year in Paris With Christian Louboutin." The book will come with the jewel thief Barbie and will also be sold separately for $40 in December.

Louboutin recently received criticism from the blogosphere when he said he found Barbie's "ankles were too fat." He tried to redeem himself with a new statement:

"Barbie’s foot has always been shaped less ‘curvy’ than the rest of her perfect body. I just added my little science to Barbie and I’ve been proud to serve her. But fat ankles she didn’t have, she just could have had thinner ankles. That’s all. She needed great shoes, a thinner ankle and, to me, as I’m obsessed with feet, a foot more curved."

Fat ankles or not, Barbie's still the luckiest doll in the world!

Dancing with the Stars pays tribute to Michael Jackson

On Tuesday night's results show of Dancing with the Stars, the professional dancers paid tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

The dancing was incredible, and well choreographed to emulate MJ rather than just imitate.

Quote of the day

"I hate celebrities. All those pointless girls - I won't name names, but you know who I mean. They are 'famous'. Ridiculous. I like women with style: actresses like Uma Thurman, icons like Audrey Hepburn. I like women with style to wear my shoes."
- Manolo Blahnik to VOGUE.COM.

Selena Gomez launches a fashion line

Well, we already know that she has been deemed a Style Ingenue, so it only makes sense that Selena Gomez is joining the ranks of her fellow Disney stars and launching her own fashion line.

The line will be called Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez and will be "pretty, feminine and bohemian," which Gomez says reflects her own personal style.

“Growing up in Texas, I was sort of close-minded and kind of a tomboy, but as I’ve traveled, I found such a love of clothes,” said the 17-year-old Wizards of Waverly Place star. “It’s really always been a dream of mine to have a line.”

To start, the line will be a full sportswear collection for fall 2010 selling — Boho dresses, floral printed tops, jeans, skirts, jackets and some accessories such as scarves and hats. Most of the collection is made in an organic soft cotton and all fabrics are recycled or eco-friendly in some way, which was important to Gomez. All items within the collection are made to be mixed and matched, even with the ability to mix prints.

Helping Gomez with the collection is Tony Melillo and Sandra Campos of Cynosure Holdings, a licensing and branding company geared specifically to help grow and sell celebrity labels.

“She has such a good sense of what she likes and what she doesn’t like,” said Melillo, who is the creative director for the Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez line. “It was surprising as I’ve never worked with someone so young, and never really expected her to be that smart. She has a desire to be involved, and nothing is sent out there without her approval. It’s nice to see her have this genuine interest.”

Check out some of the looks below...what do you think?

Lady Gaga and Beyonce collaborating!

Image via mtv.com

It has been confirmed that Beyonce and Lady Gaga are shooting a music video for a remix of "Video Phone" together!

An insider revealed exclusively to Life&Style:

Lady Gaga and Beyoncé were working on the video together at a studio in NYC. Everything on the set was being kept very hush-hush, and security was extremely tight. In the video Beyoncé wears a feathered dress. And of course Lady Gaga wears something wild. The fashion is sick and insane.

Can't wait to see the video!

Armani signs on Megan Fox

When Victoria Beckham didn't renew her contract with Emporio Armani for the underwear campaign, rumours were swirling that Megan Fox would be the replacement.

Now, it's been confirmed that Fox will be featured in the new Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani jeans campaign.

Unfortunately, she will not appear in any images with soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, who was signed to the same campaigns last week.

The 23-year-old Transformers star was shot by Mert Alas and Marucs Piggott over the weekend, and will appear in print ads and on billboards, which will start running worldwide in January.

The Olsens launch an eyewear collection

Good news for all you Olsen fans (myself included)!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will be launching an eyewear collection for spring under their luxury label The Row.

The collection will be produced in a licensed partnership with Linda Farrow Eyewear, and will feature four styles: a classic metal aviator, an oversize square frame, vintage-inspired brow-line rims and a pair of round shades taken from the Sixties.

“We’re testing the market first and obviously these are four very different silhouettes, so we’re seeing what people are responding to and we’ll open up a couple more silhouettes for fall,” said Ashley. “We tried to find certain pieces that look good on more than one face, to pay close attention to how they fit certain faces and make them wearable at the same time.”

“Designing eyewear was definitely more complicated than we thought, and of course we wanted to be extremely hands-on,” said Mary-Kate. “From what I understand, the first year with eyewear is figuring out what the process will be like for us specifically. I think everyone does it differently, whether it’s looking through old materials or archives or working with drawings and measurements.”

The collection will retail from $325 to $390, and will be available at places like Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman.

Joe Corre quits Agent Provocateur

Image via independent.co.uk

Joseph Corre has quit Agent Provocateur, the lingerie label he founded 15 years ago with his then-wife Serena Rees.

WWD
reported this morning that Corre, son of Vivienne Westwood and Malcom McLaren had left the business last week.

"Over the past few months Joe has been focusing on other projects and I think he just felt - having achieved so much with Agent Provocateur - he wanted to move on to new challenges," Garry Hogarth, the chief executive officer of AP told VOGUE.COM this afternoon. "The business is going well; we are four per cent up on last year and we have a very strong design team, so we are very confident about the future. We won't be looking to replace Joe."

Corre will remain a shareholder of the brand but will have no creative input. He will concentrate on his menswear label, A Child of the Jago, and other projects. Sarah Shotton, AP's head creative designer, will continue to oversee the collections.

AP has also has signed a license with British company BJB to produce a jewelry line, which will launch for the holiday season (some is already available online), and is close to signing a new fragrance license. The firm is also negotiating licenses for bedding, vintage-style sunglasses and umbrellas.

It'll be interesting to see how the brand copes without Corre.

Lady Gaga's rendition of "Imagine"

Last night, at the 13th Annual National Dinner of the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC, Lady Gaga performed John Lennon's "Imagine."

She tweeted, "So proud to be apart of HRC event, our brilliant president has taken a stand against hatred/inequality in the gay community. It was a historical night. Now is the time for you to get out of your beds, pack your bags, and meet me in DC to march 2moro for equality."

Thousands of activists are expected to gather today for a rally march, which will be organized by HRC and other groups, to call for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.

Christian Louboutin for Piper Heidsieck: "Le Rituel" boxset.

My favourite shoe designer, Christian Louboutin has teamed up with Champagne makers Piper Heidsieck to produce this limited edition "Le Rituel" boxset. The set contains a bottle of champagne with a glass flute shaped as a Louboutin stiletto.

Inspired by a ritual from the 19th century where prima ballerinas were famously celebrated by gentleman patrons who raised a toast of Champagne poured into the dancer's slipper, following a triumphant performance.

The boxset will be available in the United States on October 19th.

J'adore!
