Roberto Cavalli designs for Diet Coke
Your Diet Coke bottles have just gotten more stylish. Italian designer, Roberto Cavalli, has reworked the traditional Diet Coke, or Coca Light in Europe, bottle by adding his signature animal prints across a limited run of 300,000. The three different limited edition bottles will be available in Italy from September to December, in honour of Milan Fashion Week.
Cavalli used the bottles curves much like he uses women's and described his creations to WWD as "seductive and feminine, in typical Cavalli style."
Looks like I need to take a trip to Italy to get myself the one above! If not, ebay will do just as well.
Lady Gaga likes girls too.
Lady Gaga has just come out of the closet! The Just Dance singer recently revealed in an interview with HX Magazine that she is bisexual.
"I’m girl-crazy too," said the singer. "It really depends on where I am. I love men, I love women and I love sex, but I’m actually pretty introverted right now because I’m so enveloped in my work, and it’s hard to let anybody near that."
Lady Gaga also told the magazine that she doesn't consider sexual orientation in general.

Influence, by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.
I have a confession. I adore the Olsen twins. They're sense of style is so brilliant, and they seem so mysterious and bohemian, yet chic I often wish I could have that special aura of theirs surrounding me.
So when I heard that Mary Kate and Ashley were releasing a coffee table book called Influence about the events that have shaped them to be who they are today, I was filled with excitement. An inside look on the lives of the twins that grew up with the whole world watching? Pure guilty pleasure.
The book is said to have personal sections in which Mary Kate and Ashley share exclusive photos of their homes, family memories and prized possessions. I'm imagining eclectic Halloween costumes, and vintage designer goods.
Influence will be in stores October 2008.

Solange Knowles for Armani Jeans
Looks like Beyonce's little sister, Solange Knowles, wants to be more in the spotlight! The singer and young mother has just been named an ambassador for Armani's younger diffusion line, Armani Jeans.
"Armani Jeans expresses my vision of a young, independent, casual lifestyle with a strong and cool, fashion sensibility. Solange epitomises this style perfectly and brings to it that swing so evident in her new single, I Decided," said Giorgio Armani.

More September covers...
Jessica Simpson is the covergirl for Elle's September 2008 issue, and from the looks of it, she's really trying to promote her new "country image."
Too bad she wore practically the same thing back in her September 2004 Elle covershoot!
What's with all these poor choices of celebrities for magazine covers lately?

Fergie shoes
Fergie can now add shoe designer to her resume. The singer unveiled her collection at the World Shoe Accessories show in Las Vegas on Monday.
The collection is a collaboration with Brown Shoe, and ranges from gladiator sandals to vibrant platforms and sporty kicks.
"I have always loved fashion because it's a great way to express your mood. And I'm definitely a shoe lover," said Fergie. "The right pair of shoes can change the feel of an outfit, and even change how a woman feels about herself. A woman can wear confidence on her feet with a high stiletto, or slip into weekend comfort with a soft ballet flat."
The collection will debut in Spring 2009.
Will you be buying Fergie's shoes?

She's turning into an even bigger bitch..
Instead of fighting her current "whore" status, fifteen-year-old Miley Cyrus is building up a new reputation...of being a bitch.
First, there was tension between her and fellow Disney stars, Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato, when Miley and her back-up dancer/best friend, Mandy posted a parody of the two girls on their YouTube account.
Miley later gave Selena and Demi a very insincere apology.
Now, Miley's duking it out with Katy Perry. The 23-year-old singer of I Kissed a Girl recently revealed in an interview that she would love to share a Madonna-Britney-esque kiss with Miley.
Miley's response? "No thanks. She sang on my record. So I think she's kind of getting back at me, because she was doing harmonies and backgrounds."
Ouch!
Perez Hilton contacted Katy, who said, "6 weeks in a row at number one. And she recorded two of my old songs."
Team Katy for this one!

Aubrey wants you to wear her heart on your sleeve.
Danity Kane's Aubrey O'Day, is the next person to join the celebrity turned designer roster.
Her line, called "Heart on My Sleeve," consists of tees, hoodies, and briefs for men and women from American Apparel, with Aubrey's designs printed on them. She even features America's Next Top Model winners, Jaslene and Caridee as her models.
The line is pretty cute, and reasonably priced, but she goes a little overboard with her AOD Gear (I <3 AOD seems a little conceited, no?)

So You Think You Can Dance - Top 8
It was a solid show last night on So You Think You Can Dance with the top 8 dancers giving strong performances.
Some highlights included Mark and Comfort's hip-hop routine choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon, Will and Courtney's emotional slow hip-hop also choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon, and Will's James Brown-inspired solo.
But the performance of the night went to Twitch and Katee with their Mia Michaels contemporary routine. The dance was very different compared to Mia's normal choreography, as it incorporated humour into it. Not only did Twitch and Katee nail the choreography, but they also portrayed their characters extremely well.
Check out the video below!
P.S. Did anyone notice Katee's Amy Winehouse look? Is Mia Michaels trying to tell us something?

Only one left!
Another Jonas is off the market!
Rumours are swirling that Nick Jonas, the youngest of the trio, is dating Selena Gomez, another Disney star.
Selena has been spotted at many of the Jonas Brothers' concerts recently, and she also makes a cameo in their music video for "Burning Up."
Wonder what Miley thinks of this!
With Joe hooking up with Taylor Swift, now, all that's left is Kevin, but let's be honest...does anyone really care for him?

Where the Hell is Matt?
My cousin showed me an incredible video today on YouTube, called "Where the Hell is Matt?"
The video, features a man, Matt, doing his signature dance all around the world, and people joining in and dancing with him.
Matt originally wanted only to make and play video games, until one day he decided there was more to life than just that. He quit his job, and used all the money he saved to travel. While taking pictures, his friend suggested that he do his signature dance and record it.
That idea led to his first video. The response got the attention of the makers of Stride gum, who arranged for Matt to travel to 39 countries on all seven continents for six months.
After his second video, Matt decided to get other people to join in with him, resulting in the video below.
Watch it a few times, you'll discover something new each time.
Thanks again to Marvin for sharing this amazing video.

The Dark Knight makes box office history
The new Batman movie, The Dark Knight, is now the biggest debut ever in U.S. box office history, taking in $155.34 million this weekend.
In Canada, the movie made a record $18.5 million from 3,040 theatres in its midnight debut only.
Although the movie was a little to dark for my liking, it was still amazing. Heath Ledger gave a brilliant performance, nailing every single scene.
Did you see The Dark Knight? Thoughts?

Forever Piano Cover
One of the most brilliant pianists on YouTube is David Sides. When I first heard his cover of T-Pain's "Buy You a Drank," which was genius, I immediately became a fan. To top it all off, he arranges and plays all of his covers by EAR. That takes mad skill!

Maybelline - The Colossal
I used to have an obsession with mascara. I would constantly be buying new ones, even though the ones I previously had worked fairly well, just to see how thick, long, and voluminous I could make my lashes. I think I've tried just about every one on the market, except for the new ones that have come out since the end of 2006.
My obsession finally died down when I settled for Lancome's Hypnose mascara, which I have been using for the past couple of years.
A couple of weeks ago, I read about a new mascara from Maybelline on Fashionista.com, where Britt swore that it worked as well as Dior Show Blackout.
Being a fan of Dior Show, I decided I had to try it.
The mascara, called "The Colossal," was nowhere to be found on Maybelline's website, until today.
Lucky for me, I was able to find reviews on the mascara from the Globe and Mail, who swore that it will have people asking whether your lashes are fake or not.
Two days ago, I trekked to Shoppers Drug Mart, and there it was. At only $7.49, I bought it right away, in Glam Black.
To my surprise, the mascara was on sale, and rang up to around $6.50!
After trying it..I have to say, it works wonders. My eyelashes are naturally long, so if I don't use an eyelash curler, the mascara makes my eyelashes somewhat droop. But it definitely gave me volume, and made them much thicker, and more defined. The brush is HUGE, kind of like Benefit's "Bad Gal Lash," but once you get used to it, you'll love it.
The only problem with the mascara is its weird smell, but it's something that I can deal with.
I predict this will be the new cult product.
Learn more about "The Colossal" from the Maybelline website here.

So You Think You Can Dance Shocker
There was a shocker on last night's episode on So You Think You Can Dance, when only four girls were dancing in the beginning of the show. Host, Cat Deeley, then told the audience that contemporary dancer, Jessica, would explain why she wasn't dancing.
Jessica told the audience that she "broke two ribs and fractured one." She is to rest for four weeks, but will be dancing on tour. Taking her place is hip-hop dancer Comfort, who was eliminated last week.
The performances last night were interesting, especially since the dancers would be with new partners. But the dance that stole the show was the pas de deux danced by Katee and Will (undoubtedly, two of the best dancers on the show). The choreography was extremely difficult, but the two pulled it off beautifully, and to top it off, it was danced to David Archuleta's version of "Imagine."
Honourable mention also goes to Comfort and Twitch's hip-hop routine to Chris Brown's "Forever." They killed it!

Actress turned singer number 507.
Hayden Panettiere, the young actress in Heroes, has decided to focus on her singing career. Her first single was set to be digitally released on August 5, but was first played on Ryan Seacrest's radio show.
The song, called "Wake Up Call," will be promoted by Candies, who will absorb the "majority of the cost" of the single, which includes a music video, print campaign, and a multi-million dollar ad buy on cable and network TV.
If you recall, this is very similar to Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry" video, where you see Fergie styled by Candies, and hanging up her Candies underwear to dry.
"Wake Up Call," is described as a "reggae-flavoured pop song" by Ken Bunt, a senior VP of marketing for Hollywood Records, the label that will be releasing her debut album in 2009.
The song isn't terrible, but nothing spectacular either. The style doesn't seem to really suit Hayden.

Heath Ledger's family also attended the premiere, but opted out of appearing on the red carpet.
Heath's father did give a thumbs up on the way out, when asked what he thought of the film.

This just proves she's not as "pure" as she says she is...
Remember when 15-year-old, Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. Hannah Montana, told Vanity Fair that her favourite TV show is Sex and the City? She, of course, watches a "sanitized" version, but really, how sanitized can Sex and the City get?
She even went as far as comparing Hannah Montana, a popular Disney channel show for tweens, to Sex and the City.
Well now, Cyrus wants to star in a younger, "cleaner" version of the popular HBO show, telling TV Guide, "I like to think of myself as the girl that no one can get, that no one can keep in their hand."
So, is she going to get a guy, and as soon as he wants her, flash her purity ring and her Bible (on her list of seven things she can't live without) and move onto the next??
If the show goes through, hands down, she will be Samantha.

Rihanna for GUCCI
Island songstress/superstar, Rihanna, will be the face of Gucci's new UNICEF campaigns.
The campaign, which is called, "Tattoo Heart," will be Gucci's first ad campaign for charity. Gucci's creative director, Frida Giannini, chose Rihanna for her "strong personality," saying that a "musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for the campaign."
The ads will come out in December, and will feature Rihanna in limited edition Gucci products for UNICEF, where 25 per cent of the proceeds will go to the charity.
Rihanna's already had experience in modelling, posing for CoverGirl, Clinique Happy, and H&M's Fashion Against Aids campaign, so there's a good chance that these ads will be fabulous!

The Twins have arrived!
After much speculation on whether or not the news was true, Angelina Jolie's doctor has confirmed that she gave birth to a boy and a girl on Saturday night at the Lenval hospital in Niece, France.
Angelina and Brad Pitt named their children Knox Leon, and Vivienne Marcheline. Knox weighed 5.03 pounds, and Vivienne 5 pounds.
The newborns will be Angelina and Brad's second and third biological children. However, with their adopted children, they now have 5 kids in total.
Congrats!
She's just being Miley
Fifteen-year-old Disney star, Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. Hannah Montana is in yet another scandalous photo.
According to perezhilton.com, some guy claims to have hacked into Miley's cellphone, and found racy self-portraits of the young star.
Perez is currently trying to get in contact with Miley's reps to confirm whether or not these photos are real or fake.
Seems like Miley knew very well what was going on in that Vanity Fair shoot.
What's with all these Disney stars going bad?

Gossip Girl here...
Seems like a certain preppy badboy is deciding to take on a different project than his burlesque club. Chuck Bass, a.k.a. Ed Westwick is in talks to design his own clothing line.
Looks like you can now buy your favourite outfit directly from your favourite character now, instead of scouting for look-a-likes.
But will Chuck's designs be as good as the taste he left in B's mouth?
You know you love me,

First there was this month's Vogue Italia featuring only black models.

Armani described Kaneshiro as, "a film and style icon in Asia" whose "sense of effortless style is very contemporary and sophisticated and together with his good look makes him the ideal testimonial for Emporio Armani."
Kaneshiro will appear in the Fall/Winter 2008-09 advertisements.

Hugo Boss Opening at Yorkdale Mall - Update!
The new Hugo Boss womenswear store in Yorkdale Mall had a private event today to celebrate its grand opening.
Guests enjoyed drinks and hors-d'oeuvres, and music spun by a live DJ, while previewing the Fall/Winter 08 Collection.
As previously blogged, I had the opportunity to attend the event, however, I was pretty disappointed, especially by the collection. The clothing seemed very mediocre, and there were no defining features to them that screamed, "Oh yes, this is sooo Hugo!"
One thing that caught my eye was a beautiful dark green dress, however, it was ruined when I saw a saleswoman wear it along with opaque black tights, and black and silver shoes.
I kind of regret not taking advantage of the open bar, but I did try the hors d'oeuvres. Who knew how disgusting fois gras is?? I will never eat that again.
After about 45 minutes, we left, and were given a too-large Hugo Boss gift bag (see photo above), filled with two perfume samples, and a random object that we have yet to figure out its use for.
I'll keep you updated, if we ever find out!

The Influence of Gossip Girl Style
The NY Times came out with an article yesterday regarding the influence Gossip Girl has had on the fashion industry.
It talks about how young girls are buying the exact garments seen on Blair Waldorf (played by Leighton Meester) and Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). These girls are checking up on the CW website to see what the stars wore, and are bringing magazine spreads to stores, telling them exactly what they want to copy.
The Gossip Girl style is also influencing many designers for their new collections. Chuck Bass's preppy style has influenced many window displays and stores like Forever 21 are paying homage to the characters by offering Blair and Serena dresses.
Gossip Girl is definitely one of the greatest shows of our time, with all the drama, scandal, and of course, beautiful people in beautiful clothing. Blair, Serena, and Jenny's style have definitely influenced me, but I find it a little bit lame to dress exactly like them. I think the fashion in the show should be used to simply influence your style, not change it to be exactly like theirs.
What do you think?

Now...what to wear??
A new Hugo Boss store selling womenswear is opening in Yorkdale tomorrow, and to celebrate, they are having a grand opening gala, and a private shopping event.

Spotted: John Mayer and Colbie Caillat at the Molson Amph
Last night, John Mayer and Colbie Caillat stopped in Toronto at the Molson Amphitheatre as part of their Summer Tour 2008. The tour was sponsored by Blackberry (hence the photo above!)
I managed to get tickets a few months ago, but for the price we paid ($84!), the venue was pretty disappointing. The Molson Amphitheatre is an outdoor venue, and although we were under the rooftop, it just seemed like we were at the Harbourfront listening to a random musician.
It was really hard to enjoy Colbie's performance as people kept on getting up and getting food and beer, and coming back, and chatting really loudly, without really paying attention to her at all. However, when I managed to ignore the distractions, she was amazing. She seems so sweet and down-to-earth, and her vocals were so soothing. She really gave a great performance, and it was disappointing that she didn't seem too appreciated.
When John Mayer came out, the crowd seemed to settle down and focus on him. Although his vocals were very good and his guitar skills brilliant, he seemed to have an unusual song choice for his set. I didn't know very many of his songs in the beginning, but once he got into his more popular songs, I began to enjoy myself.
My favourite part was when he was singing "No Such Thing," he suddenly broke out into "Why Georgia," and the crowd went wild. Also, who could forget his song dedicated to the "guys in yellow shirts saying Security?"
Overall, it was a fairly good concert, but I will most likely never attend another concert at that venue.

This past weekend Dubai hosted Children's Fashion Week, as part of their Dubai Summer Surprises. Showcased brands include French children's brands such as Moschino, Kenzo, Jacadi, United Colours of Benetton.
I wonder where this kind of fashion week will be showcased next!

Demi Lovato - Live with Regis & Kelly
Demi Lovato performed "This Is Me" from Camp Rock on Live with Regis & Kelly this morning.
Her vocals were fairly decent, especially considering she did sing live, and her piano skills weren't too bad either!
Check it out below!
