Hilary Duff's DKNY ad
Here is your first look for Hilary Duff's Fall 2009 DKNY line called Femme for DKNY Jeans.
The ad was shot by photographer Scott "The Sartorialist" Schuman.
"I wanted to do a really smart line, like jeans that have lots of multiple sizes of belt loops so you can wear any kind of belt with it and it still kind of looks cool, or jeans that have a spot for suspenders to hook on if you want to let them hang down. Or burn-out T-shirts with fringe on them and little, like, shrunken leather jackets and vests. What are some of the other things we did? We did some images with poppies on them, because I was into poppies at the time. And I wanted to do, like, necklaces attached to shirts but that girls can take off and wear in a different way, and the same with scarves," the singer and actress told The Cut blog back in February.

In case you missed it...
You MUST watch Melissa Sandvig and Ade Obayomi dance a contemporary routine choreographed by Tyce Diorio based on breast cancer.

The Chanel Motorcycle
This customized Chanel motorcycle is not for sale, but was featured at the Chanel boutique on Rue Royale in Paris while shooting for the press kit for Chanel's pre-spring collection, "Starting Point". The motorcycle, which was customized in Talouse, France, is reminiscent of the low rider Marlon Brando piloted in “The Wild Ones.”
J'adore!

The Olsens join the CFDA
The Council of Fashion Designers of America just announced 31 new members including Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who design The Row and Elizabeth & James.
It's a big step for the fashion industry that usually shuns celebrity designers.
CFDA executive director, Steven Kolb, said "Diane [von Fustenberg, CFDA president]'s whole approach to fashion and design is inclusiveness. She always refers to the CFDA as her extended family."
von Furstenberg has dressed the Olsens for the 2008 Met gala, but does this mean designers like Justin Timberlake, Victoria Beckham, and even Lauren Conrad will be also be included in the near future?

Chris Brown issues an apology
Chris Brown has finally issued an apology for severely beating ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in February.
His speech includes:
"Since February, my attorney has advised me not to speak out even though ever since the incident, I wanted to publicly express my deepest regret and accept full responsibility.
“I wish I had the chance to live those few moments again but unfortunately I can’t. I cannot go into what happened and most importantly, I’m not going to sit here and make any excuses. I take great pride in being able to exercise self-control and what I did was inexcusable.
“I have told Rihanna countless times and I’m telling you today that I’m truly, truly sorry and that I wasn’t able to handle the situation both differently and better.”
It's so obvious that he's reading from a teleprompter...
What do you think of Chris Brown's apology? Genuine? Or simply just a move to salvage his career?

Gaga bares her derriere, but hides her face.
Lady GaGa rocked a Transformers-esque mask during the Oxygen Music Festival in Ireland on Sunday.
Interestingly enough, her breasts and derriere were quite visible.
MSN is probably having a heart attack, which makes me love Gaga even more!
Coco Avant Chanel costume preview
One film I cannot wait to see this year is the Gabrielle 'Coco' Chanel biopic, Coco Avant Chanel, starring Audrey Tatou.
"The relationship with the House of Chanel was excellent," costume designer Catherine Leterrier told British Vogue of the filming. "I was completely free designing exactly what I wanted for our film which takes place before Chanel created her 'maison de couture'. She started as a milliner. She became successful creating hats."
"For the show of the end we used authentic outfits from the Chanel Conservatory and Audrey Tautou wore a Chanel suit inspired by 'Mademoiselle' in the Sixties."
British Vogue got a sneak peek at some of the costumes, which you can view here.
Coco Avant Chanel will hit theatres July 31st.
Being 20 has never felt so awful...
Fashionista reported earlier today that MSN posted an article on "What not to wear beyond your teens."
The list was made up of short jean shorts, midriff-bearing tops, miniskirts, loud hair accessories, oversized handbags, excessive jewellery, low-rise jeans, slogan tees, extreme stilettos, cleavage, sequins and glitter and dramatic patterns.
So, pretty much everything that I love (minus the jeans, cleavage and midriff-bearing tops...unless it's a crop top).
I am 20.
Now obviously this list is flawed in that it is basically saying teens can show off their cleavage and midriffs, but adults cannot. But seriously, asking women to give up their oversized bags and extreme stilettos is just an outrage! Not to mention that I know of very few teenagers who can walk in 6 inch heels.Plus, the fact that I am obsessed with anything sequined at the moment just threw me over the edge.
Maybe these rules don't apply to me as I just barely left my teenagehood. But I bet MSN would consider that being delusional.
Do you think that these fashion choices should be reserved only for teens? Or will you still be rocking your excessive jewellery and miniskirts?

Anna Sui's Target lined may no longer be Gossip Girl-inspired
Say what?
Anna Sui's collection for Target, inspired by the female characters of Gossip Girl, may no longer be Gossip Girl themed.
“One of Target’s top executives got nervous about being that closely associated with the show, given the [debauchery] its characters get into,” said a source on set.
A GG insider told the NY Daily News that a party scene featuring Chuck and Blair was set to shoot at Sui's flagship store in SoHo last week, with models used as extras to wear Sui's Target collection.
“There was going to be signage, as well as Target symbols in purple and black — Anna’s signature colors,” said the source. “And it was rumored that Anna herself was going to be making a cameo appearance.”
Staff from Target even sent over boxes of clothing labeled with the name of each female character for the episode, but the store pulled out at the last second, leaving everyone on set furious.
“The crew was thrown into a frenzy because they had to scrap everything they had planned,” said the insider. “They can’t believe Target would bail on them, especially after publicly announcing the collaboration. It’s Target’s loss, because the line would have sold better if it had played a part in the show.”
The NY Daily News reports that Target would not comment and reps for Sui and the CW didn't respond to calls.
Nonetheless, the collection will still be available at Target stores beginning September 13th!

Posh to make cameo in SATC sequel
Looks like Victoria Beckham enjoyed her Ugly Betty and SpongeBob SquarePants stints!
The former Spice Girl is reportedly taking acting lessons after landing a cameo role in the Sex and the City movie sequel.
The 35-year-old Mrs. Beckham is believed to have been approached to play a fashionista in the new film, which begins shooting next month. She previously turned down a part in the first movie, due to conflicts with her Spice Girl reunion tour rehearsals.
"She really wanted to be in the last movie but wasn't able to take part because of her commitments with the Spice Girls. This time she's keen to take part," a source told The Mail on Sunday.

Miley Cyrus on the cover of Elle
Miley Cyrus tries to prove once again that she's "all grown-up," this time on the cover of Elle magazine's August 2009 issue.
Along with baring some cleavage, the 16-year-old Hannah Montana star dishes on designing with Max Azria, and her bonding with fellow Disney stars, Demi Lovato and ex-boyfriend, Nick Jonas.
On her new clothing line with Max Azria for Wal-Mart:
“The jeans are my favorite part of the entire line. Because, like, literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don't have it available.”
On the difficulties of being a teen star:
“It's hard for all of us. There are so many people that could be using you. So me and Nick and Demi, we don't need anything from each other. We got our own thing going on.”

Angelina Jolie and David Beckham to model together?
This will be way too much hotness to handle!
Last month, Angelina Jolie signed on with Emporio Armani to be the spokesperson for a new fragrance that will debut later this year.
Now, the brand reportedly wants her to join forces with David Beckham, who has modelled in Armani's underwear campaigns since 2007.
“When you have David Beckham and Angelina Jolie signed up to your fashion house it’s a no-brainer to link them up," said a source. “They appeal to a diverse audience and a collaboration would create so much publicity it would push Armani head and shoulders above their rivals."
Contract issues have supposedly yet to be addressed, but marketing experts are beginning to come up with ideas for a print campaign.
The insider also added that the advertisements would be family friendly.
“The two are exceptionally beautiful on camera but both are in committed relationships so the advert would have to be sexy without offending their partners.”
I hope this is true! They would look amazing together!
