Schimmel Pegasus Piano

Image via kanyeuniversecity.com

I saw this futuristic-looking grand piano on Kanye's blog.

Ten years ago, Schimmel (the piano I own!) designed 14 ergonomically curved keyboards for celebrities like Eddie Murphy, Lenny Kravitz, and Prince.

The piano features other virtuoso upgrades, such as "an electrically operated hydraulic lid that allows you to control the specific amount of projection desired, a Sostenuto pedal (middle pedal), a fully-adjustable integrated black leather upholstered stool extendible in width, height, and distance to the keyboard, and a hard-wearing professional lacquer finish resulting in a grand piano of breathtaking elegance."

If it were available to the public, it would retail at about $120, 000.

The Wackness Premiere

Last Wednesday, the Cinema Society screened The Wackness, a coming of age film starring Josh Peck (Drake and Josh) and Mary-Kate Olsen, to name a few.

Here are my favourite looks from the evening!

Lucky - Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat cover

Has anyone noticed the changes on YouTube recently? Not only have they added search suggestions and layout changes, but they also recommend videos you may like.

I'm guessing they choose videos that are related to your favourites and subscriptions, but surprisingly, some of their suggestions are right-on.

Here is one of the recommended videos that I really enjoyed! It's a cover by AJ Rafael & Cathy Nguyen, and although they're kind of just having fun and fooling around, their voices are great, and they look so cute together! Plus, I LOVE this song.

Check out the video below!

New Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has just released the music video for her latest single, 7 Things.

The video features Miley and her band, of course, but what is with the random girls in the video? Is she trying to prove that she's relatable to girls of all ages and stereotypes?

And another thing...these girls are singing along, imitating Miley, but some of them look like they're 11...have 11-year-olds really been in love and had their hearts broken?

All in all, just like her last video, it was pretty bad.

Check out the video below....what do YOU think of it?

LIVESTOCK

So the other day, I headed to Toronto with some friends to check out this store called Livestock.

Located near Richmond and Spadina, the store offers exclusive goods for men, including lines like BBC Ice Cream, The Hundreds, and its own Livestock brand.

After racing on the highway, driving into a random parking lot only to be scared out of our minds by a photo of a head in a nearby window, and almost driving in the opposite direction of a one-way street, we arrived at the store at 8:01, only to be greeted by workers leaving the store, telling us it closed a minute earlier.

Disappointed, we contemplated what we could do in an hour, since one of us had to be home at 10. After walking around the block aimlessly, we decided to go back to the store and peer in the windows. We saw some colourful sweatshirts, sunglasses, and the most amazing sneakers I've ever seen. But we also saw a worker on his white Macbook, checking his Facebook.

We decided to knock on the door and ask him to let us in. After explaining to him that we came from far away, just to see that store, we convinced him to let us in, as long as we bought something with cash.

We thanked him profusely and entered the store happily, looking at the high-priced items. One of my friends ended up buying a $115 BBC shirt, while I bought my boyfriend (or rather lent him money to buy) the New Era hat above. Normally priced at $55, the clerk kindly gave it to us for $40, no tax.

If you are into the "sneakerhead" style, and love exclusive items, be sure to check out the store! And if you do, remember to tell the workers that those people from Whitby told you about it (we promised them we would tell everyone in Whitby to go there).

Justin Timberlake for Givenchy

Justin Timberlake is the new face of Givenchy's new men's fragrance.

According to Alain Lorenzo, the President and CEO of Parfums Givenchy, the French fashion brand chose JT because he is a "world recognized trendsetter who redefines modern elegance."

Lorenzo did not give details of the deal, but rumours say the deal is worth millions.

He still looks as sexy as ever!

Vanessa Paradis for Miu Miu

Vanessa Paradis
, a.k.a. Johnny Depp's long-time girlfriend, is the new face of Miu Miu. The French singer and actress is taking the place of Kirsten Dunst, the previous campaign model.

A new Gossip Girl couple?

Image via nymag.com

Sources have revealed that roommates, and Gossip Girl co-stars, Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick are a couple!

On-set sources have told both the NY Post and the NY Daily News that Chace and Ed have been showing some serious PDA on-set. The two were supposedly spotted kissing (open-mouthed) in Chace's trailer!

I really hope that this isn't true...but then again, Ed does have a really great sense of style, and Chace is almost too good-looking to be straight...

Do you think these two are a couple?

Spray-on condoms?

Having problems finding a proper-fitting condom? Well, scientists from Condom Consultancy in Germany have decided to fix that dilemma, by inventing a new spray-on condom.

Apparently, liquid latex from a chamber is pumped onto a man's member, dries in 20-25 seconds, and can be taken off just like a regular condom.

They hope to improve the drying time to 10 seconds.

Seems kind of sketch to me, but who knows?

Would you use the spray-on condom?

Taylor Momsen for IMG Models

Image via people.com

Taylor Momsen,
the star who plays Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl, has just landed a contract with IMG Models. At 14 years old, Taylor is one of the youngest girls with the agency.

There's no doubt that she's beautiful and has the right physique for the job...but she's a far cry from the original Jenny Humphrey from the books...even though she did score a couple of modeling jobs.

What do you think of Taylor's new modeling career?

Superhero trend...is it catching on?

Image from May issue of Vogue.

The superhero trend has been featured in magazines (Vogue and Nylon to name a few) and designer collections (ie. Luella's Spring 2008 RTW) for a few months now.

The May issue of Vogue featured Canadian supermodel Coco Rocha playing the role of the superhero, in honour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's "Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy" exhibition. The Met also held its annual ball back in May with this same theme.

However, it seemed that many of the stars ignored the dress code, and just wore designer duds baring no resemblance or homage to superheroes at all.

Is this the reason why the superhero trend hasn't caught on? Although comic-book inspired threads have been featured everywhere, I have yet to see anyone wear it on the streets! Will this trend define us as fashionistas, or simply just make us look like die-hard comic-book fans?

Nonetheless, if you still want to try it out, check out Topshop's latest Super Heroes collection, featuring a sequined lightning bolt skirt, star-print rainboots, and of course, Superman undies.

What do you think of the Superhero trend? Would you wear it?

Camp Rock!

Image from stltoday.com

Last Friday was the premiere of the much-anticipated Disney Channel movie, Camp Rock, featuring the Jonas Brothers, newcomer, Demi Lovato, and also that girl from the Missy Elliot videos, Alyson Stoner.

Although the social cliques bared much resemblance to that of Mean Girls (Lovato's character being like Cady Heron, the new girl who befriends the social outcasts, then ditches them to become part of the cool crowd, and finally returns back to her original friends), the movie wasn't all that bad.

Joe Jonas (who plays pop diva Shane Gray) demonstrated some pretty decent acting skills for a musician, and was the feature star of the movie. Nick and Kevin Jonas, on the other hand, had very few appearances in the movie. Nick played the reasonable brother, while Kevin was the "dumb" one. His character got pretty annoying after a while.

Although the movie was very cheesy a la Disney, some of the songs are actually radio-material, as opposed to the songs from High School Musical.

Check out one of my fav. scenes below...soo cute! Guaranteed, you will develop a crush on Joe Jonas (if you already haven't) after watching this movie!

Ar Mani, who art in heaven..thank you for Beckham!

Image via fashiontelevision.com

Yesterday, the newest Emporio Armani underwear campaign ad was unveiled at Macy's in San Francisco.

The ad featured none other than the gorgeous soccer star, David Beckham (a.k.a. Posh Spice's husband!) This is the second time Beckham has been the "face" for these ads.

I heard on the radio once that Victoria Beckham claimed she doesn't keep her slim physique by dieting, but rather by the things her and David do in the bedroom...

She is one lucky woman!

What do YOU think of Beckham's new ad?

Emma Watson - the new face of Chanel

Image via msnbcmedia.msn.com

Harry Potter's Emma Watson, a.k.a Hermione Granger has just scored a two-year contract as the new face of Chanel's fragrance, Coco Mademoiselle. The 18-year old actress will be replacing actress Keira Knightly, and will earn roughly $6-million from this deal.

I've been looking at pictures of Emma on the red carpet for the past few years, and I always noticed that she wore Chanel most of the time. At first, I didn't think it suited her, especially when she was younger, but now that she has grown into a classy young woman, it's starting to grow on me.

Do YOU think Emma will be a good representative of Chanel?

John Mayer is great in bed.

Singer/Songwriter John Mayer will give you the "best sex" of your life, says a close friend. According to the source, John Mayer is not just good in bed, but "sensational." So sensational in fact, that very woman who has been with him is "ruined."

Hmm...good to know...

So You Think You Can Dance!

Now that auditions are over, it's time for the good stuff to start!

The Top 20 did their first performances this week.

Unfortunately, I was unable to watch the show, but I did manage to catch one dance which I absolutely loved!

The hip-hop dance was to "No Air" by Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown, and it was choreographed by Napoleon and Tabitha, the new choreographing duo on the show. When I first saw them at auditions, I wasn't expecting them to be brilliant choreographers, but I was definitely wrong. But of course, good choreography is wasted if the dancers are unable to execute it properly. Luckily, Katee and Joshua were able to deliver a stellar performance!

I can't wait to see more...check out the video below!

Spotted: OneRepublic at the Koolhaus

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to see OneRepublic live in concert at the Koolhaus in Toronto. The concert was originally supposed to be on May 8th, but was cancelled due to lead singer Ryan Tedder losing his voice the day before.

Thanks to a couple of friends who arrived there early, I managed to snag second row (standing) at the concert.

Crash Parallel (the band who sings "World We Know") was the first band to play. The lead singer, Tim Edwards was great with the audience, and they performed very well.

The next band to play was The Midway State. Their reaction from the audience was not as great as Crash Parallel's, as most people found them and their music to be quite bizarre.

But the best performances of the night would have to go to the headlining band, OneRepublic. Ryan Tedder showcased his amazing vocals (trust me, he sounds MUCH better in person than he does on TV). Even though he was on crutches, he managed to walk around the centre of the stage and wow the audience with his impressive runs, skillful piano playing, and good looks of course.

Another band member who was an audience favourite was cello and bass player, Brent Kutzle. His cello solos were well-received by the audience. Kudos also goes to Zach Filkins, guitarist and background vocals. He showcased some amazing talent as well.

Overall, amazing concert!

Lauren Conrad, fashion designer?

Image via laurenconrad.seenon.com

I'm not going to lie, I highly dislike Lauren Conrad, and I have no shame in being very vocal about my opinion of her. I find her to be very unintelligent and trashy, and I feel that she definitely did NOT deserve that internship at Teen Vogue (Re: her interview: "Do you write?" Lauren: "Write? Uhh...I like writing.") After watching the entire first season and a bit of the second season, I decided to boycott The Hills altogether because I couldn't stand her stupidity, I've even boycotted Teen Vogue (my favourite magazine back in the day) for selling out, and hiring a useless girl to gain exposure.

When I first heard that Lauren was coming out with a fashion line, I literally laughed out loud. Her sense of style in Laguna Beach was hardly stylish, and although it has improved, I still don't find her entirely knowledgeable about fashion, yet alone having that creative genius to design a line. Surely enough, the reviews for her line were righteously terrible.

Now, Lauren has come up with her latest summer collection called "Butterfly." As always, the clothing is highly overpriced (the above dress is $155), and looks like it could be from Old Navy. Now, I'm not saying that I don't like Old Navy, but Lauren's collection is definitely not worth it for the price. Her designs are not innovative at all, and the line's main purpose is to sell her name.

Mandy Moore, on the other hand, has surprised me. Her clothing line Mblem, has received awards from the fashion industry, and I really do love some of her designs. I never expected Mandy Moore to create a fashion line, as I have never viewed her as a fashion icon, but I will definitely be checking out her style more often.

Check out Lauren Conrad's latest collection here, and Mandy Moore's line here.

Whose designs do YOU like better?
