Jean Paul Gaultier teams up with La Perla

Remember that famous Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra that Madonna wore in the 90s?

Well now, lingerie and Madonna fanatics can own their very own version.

Gaultier is now designing a high-end lingerie range with La Perla called La Perla, Designer Collection.

“Lingerie is part of my DNA and of my heritage," said Gaultier. "In my latest prêt-à-porter collection I revisited the conical bras and corsets worn as outerwear. This collaboration was a natural and logical step, especially since La Perla is the pearl of the lingerie, with the best savoir faire.”

This will be the first official lingerie line for the couturier, and will hit stores in November. The collection is nearly entirely handmade, and includes a waist-cincher corset, extra-high briefs, and a bodysuit and bras that sport that famous cone style.

Alain Prost, chief executive officer of La Perla, described the collaboration as a renewable two-year partnership. A capsule collection of beachwear will be added in March.

Retail prices start at 500 euros, for a bra and panties and up to 1,000 euros for the more elaborate designs.

The line will be available in about 100 stores worldwide, including Jean Paul Gaultier and La Perla stores, as well as department stores such as Neiman Marcus, and Galeries Lafayette.
