Rihanna's runway looks

Lately, Rihanna has been spotted wearing looks directly from the Fall 2009 RTW and Spring 2009 RTW runways.

Yesterday, The Chic Spot posted a photo of Rihanna at the opening of the Derek Lam boutique opening in NYC. Turns out, the look was from Derek Lam's Spring 2009 RTW collection.

Here are some other looks Rihanna has adopted from the fashion shows, courtesy of rihannadaily.com.

So now, the question is....

Is Rihanna a real fashion icon? Or does taking looks directly from the runway just constitute as "copying?"

Louis Vuitton's house bunny

Easter came early at Louis Vuitton this year.

The fashion house's creative force, Marc Jacobs, sent his models down the runway wearing bunny ears.

Hugh Hefner and his bunnies must be loving it!

Freida Pinto: new fashion icon?

Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto seems to be establishing herself as a budding fashionista!

The 24-year-old recently walked down Dolce & Gabbana's runway during fashion week in Milan along with A-listers Scarlett Johansson and Eva Mendes.

Now, she's taking Paris by storm.

Wearing a white Chanel cocktail dress adorned by layered chains, the actress stole the spotlight from Kate Moss and Lily Allen, who were seated front row along with Pinto at Chanel's Fall 2009 RTW show.

The Slumdog beauty is already rumoured to be the new spokesperson for beauty brand, Estée Lauder, but I suspect partnerships with top designers will happen very soon.

Chanel goes plastic

According to Karl Lagerfeld, the best way to show off all your covetable accessories is in a plastic Chanel carrier/bag.

You can be the envy of those around you by flaunting your sunglasses, signature scent, favourite lip colour, iPod, and that gorgeous 2.55 bag, all Chanel, of course, and compacted neatly.

To top it all off, your carrier has the signature chain strap to emphasize its Chanel glory.

Brilliant!

Paris Fashion Week: Fall 2009 RTW - Balmain

Christophe Decarnin is truly a genius...but really, we all know that already.

Paris fashion week has begun, and I am already obsessed with some of the collections (especially) Decarnin's Balmain. Since his looks were so gorgeous, I figured he deserved his own post.

Decarnin's sexy rocker-chic looks have put him in the No. 1 spot of the most copied designer in the past two seasons, according to style.com (How many times have you seen this look all over fashion magazines and blogs?)

His short, form-fitting dresses were adorned with Swarovski crystals, his signature peaked-shoulder jackets were paired with harem pants and skinny trousers, rather than last season's acid wash jeans and the same silhouette was also intergreated into his dresses.

Sequined skirts were toned down with drapey white t-shirts, and trains were added to the mini dresses for extra drama.

Can't wait to see how fast-fashion chains will interpret these looks!

Milan Fashion Week - Fall 2009 RTW

I was more impressed with the collections from Milan in comparison to London, but I fell in love with only a select few. Here are my favourite looks (click to enlarge):

Alessandro Dell'Acqua - Italian elegance at its best

Blue Marine - The bold patterns, bright colours and
vibrant runway was a nice contrast to all the muted
colours from other designers.

D&G - A night at the opera.

Dolce & Gabbana - My absolute favourite collection.
I found the clothing so beautiful, it was difficult
to narrow down which ones I liked the best.

DSquared2 - Dan and Dean Caten do Canada proud!
They accessorized their flirty looks with a fashionista's
favourite items: Starbucks, iPhones and tabloids.

Emporio Armani - Giorgio made his looks appealing
to both the young and the old.

London Fashion Week - Fall 2009 RTW

I wasn't quite as impressed with the London shows as with New York's, but there were still some good standouts.

Up next, Milan, and my personal favourite, PARIS!

New York Fashion Week - Fall 2009 RTW

Favourite looks (click photos to enlarge!):

Alexander Wang - Always effortlessly cool. His
androgynous looks were a nice contrast to his
sexier dresses.

Badgley Mischka - Lots of glamorous, Oscar-worthy gowns.

Erin Fetherston - Romantic ballerina-esque dresses
a la Blair Waldorf.

Marc by Marc Jacobs - Some really cute men's looks,
which I definitely preferred over the women's wear.

Marchesa - Designer Georgina Chapman succeeded in
achieving her fairy-tale looks. This collection
left me breathless.

Marc Jacobs - Inspired by the "good old days
in New York. The blue number is something I can
definitely see Lady Gaga wearing!

Miss Sixty - Eighties-inspired rock-and-roll looks

Also, totally obsessed with Doo.Ri's embellished tights.

Best Dressed: Taylor Momsen

Image via teenvogue.com

I'm falling more and more in love with little Jenny Humphrey's style!

Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen sported this stylish look after Anna Sui's Fall 2009 ready-to-wear show at New York Fashion Week.

Definitely a more girly, flirty look in comparison to her usual grungy wardrobe, but she still manages to keep a bit of rock-and-roll integrated into her outfit.

What do you think of Taylor's look?
