Sienna and Savannah Miller leave Twenty8Twelve

After six years actress Sienna Miller and sister, Savannah Miller are leaving Twenty8Twelve.

The two co-founded the brand back in 2007 and also served as its creative directors.

"We've had a brilliant six years at Twenty8Twelve and are now looking forward to new pastures. We wish the brand the best of luck for the future," the pair told WWD. 


The label will continue under the direction of its current design team, under the name Twenty8Twelve London, rather than Twenty8Twelve by S. Miller, as it was previously known.

The new collection will be shown at London Fashion Week, designed by Vanessa James and Elsa Elphick, two members of their original design team.

We already know that Sienna will be busy with her first child due later this year, but we're curious to know what's next for Savannah. Having studied design at Central St. Martins and worked with  Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson, we can only hope that her career in fashion will continue to flourish.

Liberty of London pairs up with Hermès

I fell in love with Liberty of London on my recent trip to England.

Unlike Toronto's largest department store, Holt Renfrew, Liberty had that wonderful juxtaposition of the latest designer goods in a gorgeous historic building.

Trying on the Alexander McQueen motorcycle jacket boot and some Luella tweed jackets was divine, but I was especially loved Liberty's own goods: jewellery, handbags, scarves...

So when I heard that Liberty has partnered with Hermès, you can imagine my excitement.

The two brands started with Liberty’s floral Tana Lawn fabric. Hermès added a classic stagecoach and horse print in contrasting colors and promised to decorate the Scarf Room in the famed British department store, with the theme "Tying the Knot."

The scarves and ties will be available on September 7th, for six weeks.

Longchamp collaborates with ANDAM winners

During my recent trip to London, I spotted the Longchamp Le Pliage bag on women - and men - of almost all ages.

I had never paid much attention to the canvas bag before, or to how useful and classic chic they are.

My mom and I bought four, in different sizes and colours of course.

I thought I had reached my fix, until I discovered the new limited edition Le Pliage bags.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of ANDAM (Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode), the label collaborated with three past winners: Jeremy Scott, Charles Anastase, and Bless designers Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag.

J'adore Anastase's ballet slipper illustration, but the most innovative design would have to be by Bless, as the bag can be folded into itself to become a leather bracelet resembling a doughnut. Cute, and practical!

The bags will be available at Longchamp stores worldwide, and in select boutiques October 1st.

London Fashion Week - Fall 2009 RTW

I wasn't quite as impressed with the London shows as with New York's, but there were still some good standouts.

I sincerely apologize for the lack of updates on this blog, I've been extremely busy, and have been having trouble finding time to fill you all in on the latest news!

Hopefully, life will slow down a bit, and I'll be able to go back to updating daily.

Christina Aguilera for Topshop

Rumour has it that Christina Aguilera will be designing a line for Topshop.

The singer will not be replacing Kate Moss, but will sell her lines alongside the supermodel's.

The Daily Mirror reported, “Sir Philip [owner of the Topshop empire] has started talks with Christina and hopes to sign a deal soon. She has visited his offices in London and they are thrashing out the details.

“Philip loves her style and believes she would add something new to TopShop. Christina is the blonde bombshell who is into pop whereas Kate is the rock chick and model."

I wonder if the collections will change as much as Christina's persona...and will we be seeing some Lady Gaga-inspired gear?

Kanye to intern at LV

Seems like designing a line of shoes for Louis Vuitton just isn't enough for Kanye West.

The 31-year-old rapper/producer is planning on leaving L.A. for London next year, to intern at the fashion house's HQ in Bond Street.

He also plans to approach other leading fashion houses in Europe.

"I'm going to go and take an internship and just do something that's like completely normal, and just rap at the weekends or something," said the Grammy award winner.

Friends say that Kanye has even joked that he will make and serve the tea to get his foot in the door, if need be.

It'll be interesting to see what he'll be doing there!

Luella Bartley wins at the British Fashion Awards

Last night, Luella Bartley took home "Designer of the Year" at the British Fashion Awards in London.

Jourdan Dunn beat out Agyness Deyn for "Model of the Year" and Jimmy Choo was awarded with best "Designer Brand."

Madonna and Guy Ritchie officially over

Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie are divorcing after 7 1/2 years of marriage, her rep Liz Rosenberg confirmed this morning.

"Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time," says the statement that the couple released.

"The main concern for Madonna and Guy are their children – the security of their children in all senses of the word and the wellbeing of their children," Rosenberg told People. "That's the priority for both of them moving forward. It's a sad situation."

The former couple, who have Rocco, 8, and David, 3, together and Madonna's 12-year-old daughter Lourdes with ex Carlos Leon, have not yet reached a settlement.

"The judgment of the court would be to try and assess what they came in with and divide what they built up fairly equally," said David Allison, a lawyer with Family Law in Partnership, a London firm, to the Associated Press.

If you recall, amidst the talk that the couple was splitting a few months back, there was a rumour that the couple had no pre-nup. This has been confirmed exclusively to Perezhilton. As a result, Madonna has hired big name British divorce attorney Fiona Shackleton, who has also represented Prince Charles and Sir Paul McCartney in their divorice settlements.

With $518 million at stake, this is probably the right choice! This could definitely get messy!

London Fashion Week Spring '09: Roksanda Ilincic

Roksanda Ilincic's Spring '09 collection was absolutely stunning with her beautiful creation of evening gowns, made simply with stain, silk, ribbon, and handmade haberdashery flowers. Her sheer dresses adorned in tulle immediately caught my eye, especially the way they were wrapped and tied around the model's body. Another notable moment was the final dress, with its tiers of metallic fabric.

London Fashion Week Spring '09: Charles Anastase

Charles Anastase's collection was very European looking, with the poufy crinoline skirts, the black thigh highs, and the sky-high platforms. It was the look a not-so-innocent ballerina would throw together after class. The pieces included skinny cardigans, pastel-coloured wraps, and a rich palette of black, plum and beige for the skirts.

London Fashion Week Spring '09 - Basso & Brooke

Basso & Brooke's Spring '09 collection was filled with beautiful Japanese-inspired creations. It featured unique, graphic prints, and lots of bold colours, and many of the pieces were adorned with beads, embroidery and Swarovski crystals. Obi belts and chopsticks in the hair completed the modern geisha looks.

London Fashion Week Spring '09: Luella Bartley

Bold colours, tweed, lace, and frills. Pearl-chained handbags, net veils, and tulle gloves. All of these elements were the basis of Luella's Spring '09 collection. The boxy suits were reminiscent to what the elderly English women would have worn to high tea, but with a twist.

"I wanted it to be a proper, ladylike character—but a bit psychedelic," designer Luella Bartley told style.com. "And I wanted color, but in a sort of sick way. When I saw it all lined up, I thought, Ew! Can we do this?"

Looks like they could. Although the collection had the potential to be outrageously tacky, it somehow still worked.

London Fashion Week Spring '09: Topshop Unique

Whle we're just barely settling into our fall wardrobes, fashionistas everywhere are experiencing spring overload, as London Fashion Week quickly followed New York's jam-packed shows.

Topshop Unique's collection was shown the first day of London Fashion Week, and it featured a very distinct eighties style. The collection had somewhat tacky, mismatched prints, large bow-tied headbands, and lots of dark-washed denim. The clothing was similar to H&M's Divided collection, or Zara's TRF collection, though much more flamboyant.
